Online Patient Portal | New Patient Forms
We’ve taken the grunt work out of filling out paperwork, so this process is a breeze. Through our online patient portal, you can digitally complete all necessary paperwork, with no need to download, print or carry in piles of paper to your first visit.
How it works: Once your appointment is scheduled, you will receive a confirmation email inviting you to fill out your new patient paperwork. Simply follow the provided link and the system walks you through the rest. It will even keep track of your completed forms and send reminder emails when forms are incomplete or missing so that you can tend to those items before your first appointment.
Appointments can be scheduled by calling our office or booking online. Just click the “Schedule” button on any page, or call (303) 499-1965 and speak to our front desk staff. They are happy to help you or answer any questions that aren’t answered here!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does Acupuncture Hurt?
Unlike hypodermic needles used to give shots or draw blood, acupuncture needles are solid and hair-thin. Because of this, you should feel little to no sensation with insertion of the needle into the skin. Once in place, however, you may feel a slight distention, ache, tingling, or heaviness at the acupuncture point or along the corresponding meridian. These sensations should be mild enough that you can rest comfortably during your treatment and are a good indication that your “qi” is being balanced.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments you will need is dependent on the duration, severity, and nature of your problem. Typically, the more acute a problem is, the quicker it can be resolved. However, this is not always the case. Healing also depends on your body’s ability to shift into a state of balance. While chronic conditions may require a series of regular treatments over time, sometimes they can actually clear up quite quickly. Therefore, we assess your progress after the first couple of treatments and create a treatment plan based on your results. At Well Woman Acupunture, we strive to achieve optimum results for you in a time frame that is realistic for your condition, while also minimizing your time and financial investment.
Will I need herbs, too?
Not everyone who receives acupuncture needs Chinese herbs as well. In some cases, herbs alone can be an effective single treatment modality. However, in many cases, taking herbs in conjunction with your acupuncture treatments can greatly speed healing time and bring about greater healing than needles alone could accomplish, especially if the problem is an internal one. Your individual TCM diagnosis will guide us in preparing the correct herbal formula for you. The duration of therapy, as well as results you can expect to see, will be discussed in detail.
Do you accept health insurance?
Yes, we do accept most insurance and bill your claims for you. However, we strongly encourage you to contact your insurance provider to verify acupuncture coverage prior to your first visit. It is also useful to determine if your plan has any limits to coverage, such as a physician’s referral, coverage for specific conditions, spending limits, etc.
How should I prepare for my visit?
It is best to be well hydrated and have food in your stomach. You should not be overly exhausted or intoxicated. Wear comfortable, loose clothing when possible, and avoid brushing your tongue (if you do so) for a day or two prior to your appointment, as we will look at your tongue coat for diagnostic purposes.
Payment Methods
We accept cash, check, or credit card (Visa, MC, Discover). Payment is due at the time of service, unless prior arrangements have been made.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, 24-hour notice is required. Missed or cancelled appointments with less than 24 hours notice will incur a fee of 100% of the charge for the scheduled appointment.
Insurance
We are in-network with several insurance providers and will gladly bill your claims for you. We recommend that you determine acupuncture coverage with your insurance provider prior to your first appointment to ensure that it is a covered benefit in your plan. Please fill out the insurance information at our online patient portal and bring your insurance card with you to your first appointment. We will call your provider and determine the amount of your co-pay/deductible at that time.
Please note that if we are unable to determine coverage and/or deductibles at the time of your visit, you may be asked to pay out of pocket until benefits can be verified. If coverage is approved, you will be reimbursed once benefits are assigned.
We are in-network with the following insurance providers:
- Aetna
- Cigna
- Colorado Health Op
- Columbine Health Plan
- First Health Network
- Mail Handler’s Benefit Plan
- UMR
- United Healthcare
If we are out-of-network with your provider, you are responsible for paying in full at the time of service. We will gladly print a claim for you to submit to your insurance company for direct reimbursement.
